For the past couple of years, Radwan Omar who manages a network of Facebook pages with more than 30 million combined followers has earned his entertainment company, Femanji a level of popularity typically associated with one of the biggest media publishers. Radwan Omar is ready to fully concentrate on Femanji and strengthening its online presence, expecting to reach 50 million followers by the end of 2020. Radwan Omar, the founder of Femanji, remained steadfast in his goal to spread happiness.
Tell us about Femanji. How did you come up with this idea?
Radwan Omar: I alwaysknew that I wanted to start my own business, so I looked for a business optionthat would create a positive impact on the society. During my university time,I mentally prepared myself to be ready on how to set up businesses efficiently.I have started several businesses since and Femanji was one of them. It is allabout future trend research identifying what will be hot in the near- andlong-term future. If one thing is for sure, it’s that the execution of an ideais more important than the idea itself. I wake every day looking forward with asmug grin on my face because I always look forward to my work. If I was tooffer you advice, it would be to do something you enjoy. Money is a tool, nomatter how much you have, use it wisely.
How did you promote your company in the early days?
Radwan Omar: Alwaysthrough Facebook. Never really focused on any of the other social medias backthen because they were irrelevant. I knew Facebook was booming and blowing upquickly so i spent all my free time learning the ins and outs of the platformand experimenting ways to grow a massive following on Facebook rather quickly.
How have you been able to grow your business? Go specific.
Radwan Omar: Understandyour audience, engage with your audience and be consistent. The first thing youneed to identify is who your target audience is. Profiling your audienceprovides you with the in-depth knowledge you need in order to attract a largerfollowing. Defining who your real audience will also help you focus not only oncreating great content but on creating the right content. One of the biggestmistakes early content marketers make is to talk about themselves and theirproduct, rather than the things that their audience really care about. This isa huge misunderstanding of what it means to find your target audience.
What are some secrets to virality/sales in your most successful platform (Fb, Twitter, IG, Snap, E-commerce, etc)?
Radwan Omar: You need to pick a niche and attack it hard. I chose the entertainment/comedy niche because it was personally something that interested me and I knew it interested many others, so I put out content on Facebook related to this niche, 8-14 posts a day and always tried to post the most viral and engaging content possible. Posts, where people can strongly relate to & want to tag and share with their peers, are the ones that really take off and get you big follower gains.
Teach us something we don’t know about “Internet marketing, social media ads, fundraising, volunteering, yoga, sales funnels or another topic you pick”?
Radwan Omar: Cross promotingeach other is the fastest way to grow on Facebook. You basically team up withpages in your niche & generally close to your size, and you share eachother’s posts frequently, directing traffic to each other’s pages. If youproperly execute this strategy you will see crazy fast growth on Facebook.
What do you think you do better than most people? How are you able to do it?
Radwan Omar: I like thesaying by Socrates — “I know, that I know nothing”, and the phrase, “But theothers do not know and that.” This saying makes you think, and I try to thinkabout what I do and why I do it. Most people, unfortunately, do not botherthemselves with this.
What are some of the best books you’ve ever read?
Radwan Omar: I’ve read a few books. I try to choose books that make you think & motivate. I came across a book by Jack Canfield “The Success Principles”. This is the perfect book for those who feel stuck with where they are in life. I’ve totally been there, and this book helped me get out of my slump. With short chapters on each topic, Jack teaches you how to increase your confidence, tackle daily challenges, live with passion and purpose, and make your goals real. You’ll be back on track in no time.
What is your motivation? What keeps you going?
Radwan Omar: Mymotivation is to close the gap between my reality and potential.Self-motivation is, in its simplest form, the force that drives you to dothings. I personally believe that self-motivation is a key life skill andsomething that everybody interested in personal development should thinkcarefully about. All motivations can be aligned in a positive way. In fact, youare more likely to make a big positive impact if you align around your truemotives and tune them in a positive way. For example, if money motivates youand you make a lot of it, you can give a portion of it away to causes thatimportant to you.
Where do you see yourself and your product in a couple of years? What’s your dream?
Radwan Omar: We have a development plan; hopefully we will fulfil it. The industry in which Femanji is in is changing very quickly, so it’s hard to say how much we will fulfil our plans and where exactly we will be in a few years. However, I see myself having an amazing team running the whole operation while I start to work on other ventures. Right now, I run my business with 5 of my employees.
